Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15, 1996, from Stavanger) is the name of a Norwegian musician and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away - by Oasis is a cover for John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole - are already two of the most notable covers the artist has done. Katy Perry shared a tweet in which Perry promoted her song Runaway. Celebrate her special birthday. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano in her basement and bewildered by the sound it created. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes advised her to make music as a means of personal growth, rather than to earn a living or as a hobby. In order to do so she started writing her own original compositions. Her sources include noted writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love of Bjork's style. She decided to start performing the songs she wrote publicly after her mother suggested that they could help people not be famous with her work but to make those around them see their importance and the ways they impact the world. She started playing piano at age six and writing music at age nine. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family members until she turned fourteen. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. She claims that she enjoys writing songs. Music to her is the only method of feeling anything.
